Lake District secrets to whet your appetite.

  • Most tourists are attracted to holidays in the Lakes for the walking. And with everything from gentle ambles, to rocky scrambles offered, there's a trek for you, regardless of your ability. Why not start with a gentle, guided walk from Hawkshead? Or if that sounds a little sedate, then the more adventurous among you may prefer to do a full-day trek of up to 10 miles! After that, we're sure you will never be happier to return to the comfort of your holiday cottage.
  • After a day on land you're probably ready to rest those feet, so why not leave the comfort of your holiday cottage and visit Coniston to take to the waters. Whatever your nautical desires, we're sure there's something for you - from sail, to electric and motor boats.
  • But if the thought of all that water leaves you shaken, why not let yourself be stirred by Keswick's James Bond Museum - just a short drive from several of the region's holiday cottages. There you can take a look at some of the vehicles that James Bond has driven (and destroyed!) over the years. Or if you prefer your characters to be a little more cuddly, then a visit to The World of Beatrix Potter attraction at Bowness might be more your cup of tea.
  • And after that you're probably ready for some refreshment. There are a number of different foods producers in the Lakes, from award-winning sausage makers to amazing organic dairies, all offering food that you can take back to eat in your holiday cottage. And you can even wash it down with some locally bottled spring water!
